Apple has now presented new iPhones, Apple Watch, and AirPods. We at Procano are as usual excited about new technology and here we quickly go through what was presented.

Apple Watch

First out was the new Apple Watch. In total, three new models were launched. Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch Series 8, and Apple Watch Ultra.

Among the news was a new feature one hopes to never need: Accident detection. Accident detection uses a new powerful gyroscope and accelerometer, along with other sensors and advanced algorithms, to detect a potential car accident. In that case, it will try to contact the user, then possibly call the emergency services with location information, which will also be shared with emergency contacts.

The next generation of the 'main line', Apple Watch Series 8, also introduces new health features, including a temperature gauge. Two to be precise. One on the inside to measure the user's temperature, and one facing out to adjust for the surrounding temperature. This, among other things, facilitates important new advanced women's health features.

Apple Watch Ultra is made for those who need a watch that can withstand high-energy activities in extreme environments. In short. In addition to the previously mentioned: largest screen, largest battery, titanium case, and specially developed straps for wild activities in water, sand, and snow. Phew!

AirPods Pro

Next, we got to see the new AirPods Pro, which introduces significantly improved noise cancellation, a new XS option for the earplugs, and volume adjustment on the earpieces themselves. The new case also has a built-in speaker in case it slides deep into the bag and you need to 'ping' it from the phone. We know many of our users use AirPods Pro daily for both private and work phone calls, and are excited about the upgrade.

iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro

Yes, we saved the iPhones for last, just like Apple did at the launch. iPhone 14 is now launched with an improved dual camera system that is meant to take even better photos in the dark, Accident detection, and a new 6.7-inch Plus size that provides the best battery life ever in an iPhone.

The big star, however, was the iPhone 14 Pro (pictured above). With an entirely new screen and a powerful triple camera system, this will probably be a device we will see with many of our users in the time to come. The screen is now always on. So with the phone lying on the desk, you can quickly glance down and get your relevant information. The screen is also the brightest in any smartphone, making it perfect on a sunny day. In addition to this, the camera and speaker at the top have been moved into a separate section that will actively be used to incorporate information about the current phone call and how far it is to the next exit on the way to the next meeting.

The new camera on the iPhone 14 Pro now has a main lens of 48 MP, as well as improved telephoto, ultra-wide-angle lens, and front camera. We can talk up and down about 'quad-pixel' equivalent to 2.44 µm, ProRAW, and ƒ/1.78 aperture, but the only thing that matters is the following:
Photos should significantly improve in all situations, especially in medium to darker lighting, and much better zoom.

I must also mention that extremely interesting technology was presented in the form of satellite capability. The technology is very exciting, but the feature will not be available in Norway at launch.
