Run Different
In brief
Claude is one of the market's most advanced AI assistants. The value lies not in the tool itself, but in how it is implemented. With clear use cases, sound practices and the right expertise, Claude becomes a genuine productivity engine in day-to-day operations.
An AI assistant can enhance both quality and capacity, but only when used with a clear plan
AI tools have been widely tested across Norwegian business over the past year. Some organisations have seen rapid gains. Others find that adoption stalls after an initial period of enthusiasm. The difference rarely lies in the technology. It lies in how the problem the tool is intended to solve is defined, and how its use is systematically embedded.
Claude from Anthropic is one of the most advanced AI assistants available today. Most major AI services handle complex tasks and long documents, but differences exist in how they do so, how they are built, and how well they suit different requirements. The question is therefore not whether AI works, but which tool is best suited to which task.
What sets Claude in a class of its own
Claude is more than a language model. It is a comprehensive product where the model is the core, but where the surrounding framework determines how well the tool works in practice. Three attributes are particularly worth highlighting.
The first strength is the ability to understand what the user actually means. Our experience is that Claude grasps nuances, context, and underlying intent in a problem better than several other services we have used. This means fewer rounds of clarification and more accurate responses from the first attempt.
The second is the capacity to process large volumes of information within a single conversation. Claude can read through extensive documents and maintain coherence throughout the task. Other tools, such as Copilot, also handle documents. The distinction lies in how the context is preserved and how precisely the content is handled.
The third is the approach to reliability. Anthropic is built around the principle of responsible AI. Claude is known for being cautious about fabricating information, and is more likely to flag uncertainty rather than provide a confident, yet incorrect answer. This is a critical quality when AI is used in customer dialogue or decision-making material.
The journey from experiment to tangible value
Organisations that succeed with AI share one common factor. They start with specific use cases, not with the technology. A sound starting point is to map out tasks that are time-consuming, repetitive, or text-based. Examples include proposal writing, meeting notes, customer communication, internal training, or analysing supplier agreements.
Once use cases are established, the next step is building prompt competence internally. A well-crafted prompt is clear regarding context, format, and expected outcome. This is a skill that can be acquired, distinguishing a reasonable response from a genuinely good one.
The third element is quality assurance. Claude is powerful, but not infallible. Content to be shared with clients or used in decision-making must undergo quality assurance before delivery. Responsibility for the content remains with the individuals within the business, not the tool.
Features that integrate Claude into the workflow
Skills are predefined capabilities enabling Claude to perform specific tasks consistently. For instance, this could involve generating Word documents, Excel models, or PowerPoint presentations tailored to the organisation's own templates, ensuring the output receives the correct structure and visual identity from the first draft. Projects consolidate documents and context in a single location, allowing Claude to work like an established colleague across an entire engagement.
Claude can also connect to tools such as SharePoint and Google Drive. Such integrations offer powerful capabilities, but should never be activated without a considered assessment of what ought to be accessible.
Security as a prerequisite
Data security is frequently the first topic raised when adopting AI. Anthropic built Claude with security as a core principle, ensuring, among other measures, that data from business use is not utilised to train the model. This provides a robust baseline. Nevertheless, every organisation should make conscious decisions regarding the information uploaded to AI services, regardless of the provider.
Every organisation adopting AI should therefore implement a dedicated AI policy. It does not need to be exhaustive, but should be grounded in a specific risk assessment. The primary consideration is what AI will actually be used for. What purpose does the tool serve, and which problem is it addressing? The second concerns the data the organisation is willing to supply to the AI. What is permissible to share, and what must remain strictly confidential? The third addresses consequences. What happens if information is compromised?
IT risk assessments cannot be purchased off the shelf from a vendor. Responsibility always rests with the individual leader and the organisation.
When AI becomes a shared way of working
A common starting point is individual employees adopting Claude independently. While this delivers value to the individual, the benefits remain personal rather than organisational. At the same time, the business loses oversight of how AI is being deployed. In practice, this constitutes a form of shadow IT.
The real impact emerges when adoption becomes collaborative. Prompts and templates are shared and reused across teams. Core processes, such as proposal writing and reporting, incorporate an established AI role. New employees gain access to this shared knowledge from day one.
The result is more consistent quality, shorter onboarding times, and noticeable time savings.
This does not require a large-scale change management initiative. Select two or three specific use cases. Measure the impact over a few weeks. Expand once the initial workflow is firmly established.

Claude is sufficiently mature for serious business use. Its value is determined by how the tool is implemented in practice.
